Animating in maya

After learning about 12 principles of animation, Matt gave us the task to animate something simple in Maya, I chose to animate a ball jumping (not bouncing, that’s important) I tried to capture this by using Squash and Stretch to make it look like it’s putting effort into forcing itself up, as if an egg is ready to hatch or get your attention.

For this animation I also used Pose to Pose animation instead of straight ahead so that I could achieve the result quicker, I also used Timing and Slow in and Slow out to make the jumping look more appealing and as if gravity is acting upon it.

Here is the finished product for the time being, achieved in our first lesson of animation.
